3. in the form of dialogue
Anam: I’m just looking the moon and the stars in the sky. That is beautiful scenery.
Aji    : waw  . . . as a matter of fact you are really a romantic man. But, do you know why the moon sometimes looks half and sometimes it looks full.
Anam: I don’t even think about that. But I still remember my teacher’s explanation about moon. Once a month the moon travels in a complete circle around the earth. And as it moves in its circle it seems to change shape, this is because on earth we see only that section of the moon that catches the sun’s light. Am I right?
Aji    : Yeah you are really right. Do you know why sometimes we can’t see the moon at all?
Anam: I don’t know. Can you explain it for me?
Aji    : Okay, when the sun, the moon, and the earth are in a straight line – the moon in the middle – we don’t see the moon at all. At this point the moon is said to be new. We are unable to see it in this position because the side facing the earth is in shadow.
Anam: Well, I see. I have ever heard about new moon. Can you explain it too?
Aji    : Okay, I’ll explain it to you the whole process of the changes of the moon. As the new moon begins to circle the earth, however, we begin to see that part of its surface that catches the sun’s light. After some days it reaches the position when we can see the half moon. When it moves further around to the position where the earth is between the sun and the moon, we see the full moon. Later it again becomes a half moon, becoming smaller and smaller until it disappears again to become the new moon. This cycle takes twenty-eight days, or a month.
Anam : You are absolutely smart. Thanks for the explanation Aji. So, I have a new knowledge.
Aji     : You are welcome anam. I have the interesting film about moon. Can you accompany me to watch the film next Monday?
Anam: I’m sorry. I have to do my homework next Monday. How about at Sunday?
Aji     : OK. That will be fine. Thank you. See you at Sunday Anam.
Anam : See you.
